About Magnus Berg
Magnus Berg was born in Norway, March 19th 1996. He got his first handmade guitar build by his grandfather at the age of seven, and grew into playing that guitar by the age of ten. Early on he discovered the classic rock ‘n’ roll and other guitar-based music styles. The first guitar player he admired was Angus Young, the lead guitarist of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. When Magnus set out to discover the roots of the music he was listening to, he found the Blues through artists such as B.B King, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Otis Rush and Jimmy Reed. These musicians are the biggest inspiration for his guitar playing, singing and songwriting.

Berg made his first appearance on stage at the age of twelve, and recently realized a life-long dream, playing Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago at the age of 17. He makes his New York City debut at the Cutting room as opening act and featured guitarist with The Kirsten Thien Band.

Magnus Berg’s 2nd studio release is set for June 2014. It features his Norwegian band, along with cross-Atlantic collaboration with Erik Boyd (as producer) and Kirsten Thien (songwriting and vocal appearances).
