Deena Goodman
Deena Goodman
Deena Goodman returns to her musical roots on March 31st, 2014, combining story and song for this intimate concert. With special guests and CANY Junior Board Members Nikki M. James (Book of Mormon, Les Mis) and Bobby Steggert (Ragtime, Big Fish). Deena will end a 2 year musical hiatus with this special event geared to raise money for a very important cause.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit CANY - Creative Alternatives of New York - whose mission is devoted to empowering people who have endured trauma to rebuild their lives. Through the use of drama therapy and creative expression in a group setting, CANY helps children and adults expand their self concept, imagine new life possibilities and build the social and emotional tools they need to live meaningful lives.

Deena Goodman released her first EP, Hard To Get To, in 2004 and a second EP, Better Love, in 2007. A regular at venues across the New York City and LA circuit Deena has had the pleasure of opening for artists including Grace Potter, Missy Higgins and Brandi Carlile. In 2010 Deena played at New York City’s Carnegie Hall backing artists including Shawn Colvin and Roger Mcguinn in tribute to Elton John and Bernie Taupin. As a lover of music and the craft of songwriting Deena Goodman co-hosted the New York Songwriter's Circle at the Bitter End and later launched the Rebel Spirit Music Series providing artists with an opportunity to perform and network with musicians and industry alike.
