Rebecca Hart
Rebecca Hart once accidentally won a comedy competition in Dublin, Ireland, while appearing as musical guest (true story). Born into a theatre family, she has been acting since her first stage appearance at nine months and writing/playing words and/or music for only a slightly shorter time. Recent credits include 'microcosmos', a rock odyssey about neuroscience and creativity written and performed with band member david kornfeld for The Civilians Theatre Company R&D Group; book & lyrics for 'IRON JOHN: an american ghost story' (NYU Grad Thesis Musical written w/Jacinth Greywoode), which will be developed this summer at Theatreworks Silicon Valley's New Works Festival, and gigs with/without her six-piece folkrock band at the SoFar Sounds Series (Brooklyn/Manhattan/DC), the Irish Arts Center NY, Hartford Theaterworks 'Living Room Series', Rattlestick Theatre's 'New Songs Now' series, and regular shows at the Rockwood Music Hall Stages 2 and 3. She is the co-recipient of the 2017 NY Innovative Theatre Award for 'Best Original Music', a 2019 Helen Hayes Award nominee for a song commission for 'a show at Woolly Mammoth in DC, and a Civilians Associate Artist. Her 2018 album 'The Magician’s Daughter' was produced by acclaimed cellist/songwriter Ben Sollee in Louisville KY and by band member Ben Arons in NYC. She is thrilled to be bringing her "infectious stage presence and unique audience rapport" (BAMCafeLive) and "impressively well-textured voice, sticky melodies, and ultratight band" (TimeOut) to The Cutting Room for the first time. www.rebeccahart.net
