Where would electronic music be today if Gleeson didn't decide to drop everything in 1968 and join Herbie Hancock's band?

Patrick Gleeson introduced synthesizers to jazz in Herbie Hancock’s Mwandishi band. Tonight he’s joined by two Miles Davis alumni, Sam Morrison on reeds and electronics and Lenny White on drums. Gleeson’s performing using a much-modified version of Ableton Live that allows for intelligent looping (he can change keys, instruments and tempos, for example) They’ll be performing unique versions of music from Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew that reflects Gleeson’s commitment to electronic music and American minimalism. “I’m not at all interested in trying to recreate what Davis has already done beautifully. Instead, I’m imagining what this music could sound like if it were performed for the first time today.”
