Nashville to New York: An Intimate Evening with Hit Songwriters
Nashville to New York: An Intimate Evening with Hit Songwriters
Nashville To New York is an evening of hit songs and the stories behind them. It is hosted by Hall of Fame songwriter Gary Burr and hit songwriter Georgia Middleman. When not performing solo, this husband and wife team also tours as Middleman Burr and as two thirds of the critically acclaimed group Blue Sky Riders along with Kenny Loggins.

Every Nashville to New York show features Gary and Georgia and two of their amazing songwriter friends, brought to the big city to entertain and thrill you with their songs and their tales of show business. If you love songs and songwriting and have ever wanted to hear them right out of the mouths of the artists who dreamed them up….Nashville To New York is the show you do NOT want to miss!!

Gary Burr is a Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member, ASCAP, Billboard and NSAI Country Songwriter of the Year. He’s had fifteen #1 hits and has written songs recorded by Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Carole King, Ringo Starr, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin, Kelly Clarkson, Joe Cocker and many more. A recording artist in his own right, Gary has released four cds including his most recent “Juggler’s Logic.”

Hit songwriter Georgia Middleman has had her songs recorded by Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Reba, Joe Nichols, Martina McBride, Sheila E., Radney Foster, Maia Sharp, Mark Chestnutt, Sarah Buxton, Terri Clark and many others. Her song “When The Right One Comes Along” was featured on the ABC hit TV show “Nashville.” Georgia has also released four cds of her own, including the recent jazz-infused collection of originals called “Plum.”

This Emmy Award winning and multi-Grammy nominated songwriter co-wrote “I’ve Got A Rock N’ Roll Heart” for Eric Clapton and has gone on to write hits for Faith Hill, Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys and Reba among many others. His song “I Can Love You Like That” (recorded by John Michael Montgomery and All 4 One) stayed at the top of the charts for three weeks, along with being voted ASCAP, BMI and NSAI Song of the Year. Steve’s songs have also been heard in several films, including “Message In A Bottle,” “Princess Diaries” and “Corrina Corrina.”

John Scott Sherrill has written 11 #1 songs and has had songs recorded by John Anderson, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Alison Krauss, Jimmy Buffett, Peter Wolf, Mindy Smith, Mick Jagger and countless others. Among his hits are “Nothin’ But The Wheel” for Patty Loveless, “Some Fools Never Learn” for Steve Wariner and Josh Turner’s “Would You Go With Me.” Sherrill is also a recording artist in his own right, having just released “Mr. Honky Tonk,” a cd reflecting an everyman-sophistication which also shows why he’s long been considered a writer’s writer.
