Tim Realbuto - Tim graduated from Five Towns College many moons ago with a B.F.A. in Acting. As a writer and director, Tim is most known for co-writing and co-directing the musical Ghostlight with Matthew Martin. Ghostlight first premiered at NYC’s Signature Theatre in 2011 starring Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan, Drama Desk winner Rachel York and Tony nominee Michael Hayden. Later readings of the show featured Carolee Carmello, Robert Cuccioli, Anneliese van der Pol, Phillipa Soo, Jennifer Hope Wills, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, Trevor McQueen, and Rachel Bay Jones. As an actor, Tim is most known for his role in the 2002 Kevin Kline film The Emperor’s Club and for creating and starring in Wunderkind, which tells the story of his life growing up in show business and has played venues such as 54 Below and Joe’s Pub, featuring guest stars such as Laura Osnes, Beth Leavel, Julia Murney, Derek Klena, Jenna Leigh Green, Christina Bianco, Jason Gotay, Stephanie D’Abruzzo and more. Wunderkind, hailed as “genre busting” by the Huffington Post was most recently staged at The New York Musical Theatre Festival. NYC Workshops/Readings: Alan in Mean the musical (written by Grammy Award winning pop icon P!nk), and Pad Hall in Playground (directed by Andy Gale). Other favorite NYC acting credits include: Bookseller in the Rain (with Tonya Pinkins and Amy Spanger), The Winter’s Tale Project (Fringe NYC), White Widow (Off-Broadway premiere), Love’s Labours Lost (Shakespeare in the Parking Lot), Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), Finian’s Rainbow (Woody Mahoney), Hair (Claude), The Who’s Tommy (Cousin Kevin), and I Hate NY: A Love Story (Man # 1/Director) at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Concert engagements include: Ghostlight: The Songs of Martin and Realbuto, Outcasts Like Us: More Songs by Martin and Realbuto, Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help) – all at 54 Below, and Broadway Sessions opposite Megan Hilty and Emma Hunton at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Regional favorites include: The Baker in Into the Woods, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Louis Ironson in Angels in America, Kulygin in Three Sisters, Greg Pierotti in The Laramie Project, and Oscar Wilde in Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde. Film/TV includes: Jimmy on “The Sopranos” (Season One), “Ed” (Season Three), “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”, “Good Day New York”, “Good Morning America” (performing with Grammy Award winner Shania Twain), two seasons on Nickelodeon’s “The Big Help” (opposite Michelle Trachtenberg), Sex and the City: The Movie, Fighting, The First Seven Years, Enchanted, One True Thing, Did You Hear About The Morgans?, and Woody Allen’s Deconstructing Harry. As a writer, Tim is registered with the Writer’s Guild of America. He has written the play Blame It On The Oysters, which was produced twice and he also has a screenplay entitled The Hyde Club in pre-production. His play Yes was performed as part of the Emerging Artists Theatre’s New Work Series (with Mr. Realbuto serving as the director as well as the lead). Yes was produced for a second time at The Detroit Fringe Festival and will play a run at The Hudson Theatre Guild in January.
