Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends
Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends
Reeves Gabrels, a world-class American musician, is an innovative guitarist who also sings, writes songs and
composes soundscapes. He joined The Cure, a distinctive and successful post-punk rock band, in 2012.
Gabrels is known as well for his partnership with David Bowie from 1987 through 1999. He was a co-founder
of the rock band Tin Machine with David Bowie, Tony Sales and Hunt Sales. Gabrels continued to work
closely with Bowie as guitarist and a co-writer for Outside (1995); guitarist, co-writer and co-producer for
Earthling (1997) and Hours (1999). Gabrels was Bowie's guitarist and music director across a dozen years of
touring, including for a Bowie tour with Nine Inch Nails, and for Bowie’s 50th birthday celebration at Madison
Square Garden. Independently, Gabrels has released five albums as guitarist and vocalist; made two
improvisatory guitar-duo albums (the most recent with Bill Nelson) and composed film, television and videogame
soundtracks. A sought-after collaborator, Gabrels has written, performed and recorded with musicians
in genres from heavy metal to hip-hop to electronica to jazz.

About the Band:
Power trio led by The Cure’s guitarist will rock small music clubs in nine cities
Reeves Gabrels, an adventurous rock guitarist, is taking his band on the road in July to play small music
clubs from Nashville to New York and back. Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends push the boundaries of
the power trio format, combining the visceral energy of rock, the harmonic sophistication of jazz, and the
emotional honesty of blues. Gabrels sings and plays other-worldly guitar, with Kevin Hornback on bass and
Marc Pisapia on drums and harmony vocals.

If you’re a fan of smartly-crafted songs, stellar musicianship
and fearless improvisation, catch Reeves
Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends live while you can.
